I set the title of the base link field to a token ([field_link_field-url]) but when formatted using one of the screenshot formatters as links options, the actual token shows as the tooltip rather than the token substitution. I'm not familiar with the token or cck apis, but I'll see if i can figure out a patch.

actually a problem with the link module-- dev seems to have regressed back to #840938: Regression: Tokens no longer being applied in static titles.

It sounds like we'll have to dig into that cited issue and see if it is possible to make the title token work as expected. If the 6.x-5.x branch is chosen to become the new stable version, I'll take a closer look at this.
