I downloaded the quote module today and tried on advanced forum but the quote buttons didn't show up. They show up on other content types. I tried enabling node comments on another content type and then the quote button didn't show up on that either. So it looks like it is has something to do with nodecomments. But I see it is working on your site michelle so can you tell me how to get quote module working with advanced forum 2.x? Thanks.

michelleI didn't do anything special to get it working. Do the quote links show up without AF enabled?

dimitriz1 commentedI think it is nodecomments causing the problem. I disabled advanced forum and still no quote button was showing in the threads. When I then disabled node comments the quote button showed up.
Edit: Just finished the fresh install. I used the nodecomment, quote and views module. I created a Page node and enabled quotes for the page content type - the quote link showed up. I then enabled nodecomments for the Page content type and the quote link disappeared. So quotes are not working with node comments.

michelleOk, moving over there, then.

dimitriz1 commentedIt seems basically any content type that uses nodecomments will not show the quote button. I am going to do a fresh install of drupal with just nodecomments and quote module to check this...

And that means anyone using advf 2.0 will not be able to use quotes.

michelleEr, no, it doesn't... For one thing, Node Comments is not a requirement of AF 2.x. For another, I'm using Quote with Node Comments so whatever the issue is doesn't affect everyone
Not arguing that there's a problem but let's not exaggerate, ok? :)

dimitriz1 commentedMichelle its strange how its working for you when its is not working on a clean drupal install with just three module enabled. Maybe its the versions of the modules i am using -
quote - 6.x-1.1-beta2
node comments - 6.x-2.0-beta6
If you make a fresh install with just those modules you will see the problem.

michelleAh, yeah, sorry. That was so long ago I'd completely forgotten about it. Since Quote is basically abandoned and not changing I haven't had to deal with updating the patch since I installed it.
