Wizards on access plugins

Supporting multistep configuration forms for access plugins would simply the UI for more complex access plugins.

One use case: for a CCK access plugin the user would select a field on one screen and input accepted or disallowed values on the next screen.

In this thread discussing such a patch, merlinofchaos explains how this could be used to simplify layout switching for end-users/content creators.
