Right now, I do not want to accept credit carts on my newly created ubercart site. I only want to use paypal.

I have gone to this section, and made my payment methods as clear as I possibly can.

Home → Administer → Store administration → Configuration → Payment settings

I have not enabled "credit card" as a payment method. I have not filled out "Credit card data security" or the "Checkout workflow" and so on.

But I keep getting the following error messages:

* You have chosen to not process credit card payments during checkout, but customer credit card data is not being stored once checkout is completed. This configuration is not recommended for a live site, as you will not be able to collect payment for your orders.
* Credit card encryption must be configured to accept credit card payments.

On the modules page in the Ubercart section you should be able to see the credit card sub module - if it is turned on Ubercart will be expecting credit card info to be configured - and when not configured it will give you that message, but if turned off here it should not be mentioning credit cards..

If it is on try turning it off and clearing the cache - this may help get rid of it.

Thanks for the reply. One problem: I had "paypal pro" enabled. Paypal Pro expects credit cards.

Okay, I followed all of your advice, and removed paypal pro, but - sometimes - when I go to "Review Order" I get this:

----------
Error message from PayPal:
Security header is not valid
---------

When I go to buy a product, I have two paypal options.

----------
Payment method:
PayPal - pay without sharing your financial information.
PayPal - pay without sharing your financial information.
- - - Visa, MasterCard, . . .
----------

The second choice, the one with the credit cards listed, works. The first choice gives me the error message. Seems like, if anything, it should be the other way around.

I think all you want is Paypal payments standard, so disable the rest and clear the caches. Check there is no left over settings also.

I think the paypal pro is looking for a security header - whatever that is - to verify it is legitimate - and that is why you get 2 paypal options still.

Paypay standard should give you the option of paying with paypal or credit card - but that happens on the paypal site - it is separate from selecting credit cards in ubercart.
