We need someone with Illustrator to update this existing Drupal brochure. Or someone from the marketing team can recreate it. Or update this one:
I've got the .ai file (it can't be uploaded here)
When something is ready to put on Drupal.org, update node 10767 (or ask me to do it) and use the usual file upload to get it online.
Thanks!

lisarex commentedI've emailed it to you now. Thanks Steven!

gdemetHaving reviewed Steven's updated one-sheet, I have a couple of design-oriented comments:
- We should not be using bitmaps or rendered typography in a PDF. We do have vector-based versions of the wordmark available at https://infrastructure.drupal.org/drupal.org-style-guide/logo.html and all of the typography uses standard typefaces.
- I 'm not sold on the "Ready to Get Started" in italics and the use of the Druplicon, which don't fit in at all with the new brand identity. I'd prefer the footer be removed completely, or replaced with something much simpler.
- My understanding is that we have someone working on updating the copy, and I am more than to review it.

stevenc commentedHi George,
Thank you for the feedback.
This PDF was a conceptual version that I created in Photoshop, simply because I can work faster in PS. I had always intended to re-render the final version in InDesign and would employ proper vector graphics and typography. As a side note to that - I don't have the exact fonts specified by the design guide so was substituting the best that I could. I'd appreciate any guidance on how we can address that.
I, too, was initially hesitant to include the Drupalicon because I hadn't really seen it used in the redesign, but on the flip side I hadn't heard that it was being abandoned either. I have no qualms about taking him out.
I am a fan of a call-to-action of some kind, from a marketing perspective. Whether we change it to "Get Started Today" or "Learn More" even make it community-oriented with "Join Us", I think we should have some kind of "what do I do now?" response. But it can also be deemphasized compared to the url - I'll play around with that a bit in my next version, once I get the copywriting feedback.
I also intend to improve the design elements - specifically, the case studies and romance paragraph blocks are uninspired, but I felt hesitant to do too much with them until I felt more sure of the content. (And because Lisa was asking me for an update LOL).

lisarex commentedThe plan is for Diana.k to revise the copy (and get signoff from George) and then Steven will integrate this into the brochure along with the wordmark.
stevenc commentedI've added all of the content to the shared Google doc, and I created a "Goals and Guidelines" section at the beginning to ensure that we are all on the same page.
Please feel free to edit the Guidelines, or post comments/ideas into the "General Comments" area at the bottom of the document.

lisarex commentedBelow is the updated copy. Can Kieran + other folks review before Steven rolls it into the brochure? Thx!

Amazon commentedHi, this looks good. I've asked some Tim who is doing some Drupal marketing to weigh in.
The only thing I would add is the industry expertise the Drupal community and specifically service providers have in building:
Education
Non-profit
Publishing
Media
Government
Enterprise
It's not just the software, it's the experts that can develop the best websites in the world in these industries that make Drupal great.

dorothym commentedI wanted to offer a few suggestions on the text, as a relative newcomer to Drupal.
1. WordPress advertises that their installation takes 5 minutes --- and I think that saying that a Drupal site takes "hours" to create might discourage a novice. Would it be reasonable to change that to "minutes"?
2. I'm not sure of the intended audience for this brochure, but the "Summary Points" felt like they were aimed at developers. I took a shot at putting that section into more lay-friendly terms (below).

lisarex commentedAlso fyi, #878194: Update generic Drupal brochure and publish... this other issue is for a longer brochure though.
lisarex commentedThis is a leftover from the redesign. If a designer or anyone else wants to take a stab at this, that would be great. We have a lot more in the way of assets now: http://drupal.org/drupal-media-kit
Steven, I'm in a signing you for now, but please do reassign yourself if you want to do this..
