The AD standard is to use sAMAccountName as the username. However, for some reason, my site's AD implementation returns "samaccountname", in lowercase. The following patch fixes that problem, making it easier for admins to get a working LDAP implementation. (Yes, I could have just changed my settings, but this patch will help others avoid the same problem in the future.)
