If you create a node which is not visible to a certain group and that node creates a menu item, this menu item in the navigation menu should not be visible to this group.

When someone in this group who does not have access to this node clicks on the menu, they get an access denied, this is good, but it would be cleaner if this menu item didn't appear at all in this group's menu.

Maybe what I'm saying is that menu items also should be able to have access rules applied to them.

this is a core limitation. might be fixed in 5.
