My Drupal site was being brought down by people entering super-long queries through this module. This is probably because we were running the Drupal Default sear so I went ahead and wrote a patch that throttles queries after X number of words. The configuration for this appears under the "search_index_unique" setting on the "Search settings" page.

This version of Views Fast Search is not supported anymore. The issue is closed for this reason.
Please upgrade to a supported version and feel free to reopen the issue on the new version if applicable.
