uninstalling modules - will anything break?

I have a question about what I am seeing during the uninstall process of drupal modules. I want to uninstall the twitter module but as soon as I uncheck them and save my screen give me a launddry list of red error messages about directory conflicts or file not found, etc so i rechecked them and they go away. i want to know if i fully uninstall the module will these errors be reset and go away?
