Sessions, contribution, connection, and Early Bird savings until 8 June.While working on the new content translation system for Drupal 7, we (the Drupal core i18n team) faced the need to convert node titles to the Field API in order to make nodes fully translatable.
We were not able to make this happen in Drupal 7 core (see #557292: TF #3: Convert node title to fields and #571654: Revert node titles as fields), so we decided to find a solution for this in contrib: the idea is replacing node titles with fields à la Automatic Nodetitles.
To do this we need an appropriate namespace and title would be perfect. Given that the Title project had only one commit in all its (tracked) history and its latest release was for Drupal 4.5, I'd wish to take it over.

dave reidSounds like a great reason to transfer, but we still have to follow the Abandoned module processs which requires creating an issue in the module (done by this issue project transfer) and also contacting the current maintainer via his/her contact form. Unfortunately this maintainer seems to have his contact form turned off, so I e-mailed him myself. If you don't hear back from the maintainer here in two weeks, please transfer back to the webmasters queue.

sunGood idea. Looks pretty much unmaintained, also has no releases, so there's not even a way to use this module since Drupal 5. ;)
I'd shortcut the process, but we can also be patient.
