Hi,
After installing location.module and gmap.module I've tried to play around and see how it works. "user locations" bring the user to a (blank) Google map of the world with "To add you location to this map click here" at the bottom. Clicking on that, it brings up a "my account" page on "edit" with no data under it what so ever.
I've followed all steps to avoid conflict between gmap and location, but I still don't see anything.
Am I missing something? what am I doing wrong?
All I want is for users to see where other users are from on a Google map of the world.
Thanks,
fiLi

webgeer commentedI'm not quite sure what the problem could be. If it is drawing a map for you the map drawing is working.
try enabling gmap.module and gmap_location.module and disabling location.module and see if this works.
Sorry I can't help you more, but it is one of those things that "it works for me" and I don't know what your problem could be.

adminfor@inforo.com.ar commentedHey Fili,
They are working fine for me both users http://www.inforo.com.ar/map/user and nodes http://www.inforo.com.ar/map/node
Have you got any special entry in the watchdog when you try to show the user locations map?
Could you provide me your URL in order to take a look?
Thanks, Gustavo

geodaniel commentedWhen you say you see a blank map, do you just mean that there are no points on there, or that the map isn't actually showing up?
I think this may be because you need to go into the gmap_location module settings page and save it before you can let users add their own location. Saving the settings page creates the tab in the users' profile.
Did that help make it work? If so, hopefully there is a way around forcing people to take this step.
