I've spent the better part of the past 3 days drooling over some pretty sweet sites powered by Drupal. I'm absolutely amazed at what this app can do....

All of this time I've spent fooling around with other blog apps, and such, I should have plopped my rear end right her at the D-spot.

Oh well, there's no time like the present. So I'm ready to join the party (even though I feel like it's a party in a foreign country where I don't know the language - whats a 'node'? ;) )

Quick question: How do the security issues of Drupal compare to the security issues of Joomla? I've heard nightmare stories about Joomla, and I need to know what I'm getting into if I migrate my site to Drupal.

Lastly, I need a (some) Drupal developer experts to work with a designer to create a site for my current web community (which has over 36,000 registered members). If you're an EXPERT, drop me a line.

Cheers everyone - I'm forgiving you (in advance) for losing my invitation to the the Drupal party.

ok, I'm off to look at some more sites:)

It is never too late. I don't know the security issues of Joomla but as far as I can tell one of the highest priorities of the Drupal project is security. There is a security team, a security announcements page and a mailing list. Note that most of these announcements are about the contributed modules and they don't affect the the core. Drupal provides security related functions and APIs to module developers but sometimes they can ignore something.

For getting help from a Drupal developer I suggest the forum Paid Drupal Services.

Many of Joomla's sercurity issues have more to do with the shared hosts than Joomla or Fantistico where people are using many other "free" applications that might have holes in it.

I have heard of Drupal having the same trouble.

Drupal is great. I actually went to Joomla first because it was easier to learn as a CMS and now I am back because of the flexibility of Drupal.

Althout after 2 years experience with CMS, the flexibility is still confusing to me.

Some of the things native to Joomla like being able to list all categories in a section in the body of the page , well I haven't figure that out yet here. But I will.

Welcome aboard.
