I'm trying to migrate from Thickbox module to Colorbox.

Thickbox image is closed when user clicks on it. Colorbox is closed only when clicking on Close button or outside image (on overlay).

Is there any way to setup Colorbox to be closed when clicking on image?

The Colorbox plugin doesn't have this feature unfortunately.

You could ask the Colorbox plugin author to add this feature, plugin homepage http://colorpowered.com/colorbox/.
