I'm looking for a recommendation on how to handle a relatively small e-commerce need for a marketing/web hosting company. I've looked at ubercart and am not sure if that's an overkill, or if there's something more appropriate. The services being sold are subscription-based and varies due to:

1. Number of web pages
2. Size of email database
3. Frequency of emails

So we need the customer to be able to initially enter the above information which will determine the price. They can pay monthly or annually which would be discounted versus the monthly fee.

We then need to be able to allow the customer to see what their current subscription is, and make changes if necessary. And ideally, we can place some restrictions on the changes that can be made to prevent someone on an annual plan from lowering their service level. So perhaps those changes are effective as of the renewal date, unless it's an upgrade and they can make it effective immediately.

For now we're just using Pay Pal's basic solution.

I'd greatly appreciate some direction on this. I haven't a clue about Drupal integration with e-commerce and what options are available.

Thanks.

Well Ubercart is really the only e-commerce solution fro Drupal. It's much like Drupal in that it's really flexible and configurable. If you are already familiar then just go with ubercart. The nice thing about Ubercart and Drupal is that you have room to grow, since you can build anything with Drupal it would be really easy to integrate forums, documentation, helpdesk/ticketing or anything else with your billing/e-commerce solution.

...And i just checked out your account profile and you've been a member of Drupal.org for four years? Then def go with ubercart. I would search around and see if anyone else has an specific issues with recurring payments. I don't think there will be.

Good luck
