Trying to find the correct way of putting a user profile counter into action. Is there any module that does that already? I am using the user_profile.tpl.php profile work around. 4.7.3

you may want to have a look at profile_visit.module. This modules emails a user whenever his/her profile is viewed.

This module may give you some insight on how to count the profile views.
