We installed notify.module about a week ago and think it's great! One specific and one broader idea:

1) A suggested configuration option (set at Admin / settings, not per-user): "include / exclude links." Our reasoning: we want to use the notify.module email with teasers to bring people to our site to read the full piece of content. If they follow links in the teaser, we may never see them. Not very Web 2.0, I know!

2) I scanned the feature request titles but did not read all of them -- so if this is a duplicate, my apologies. I think a simplified enrollment option would work for many sites: the user opts in (or out?) to receive notify.module emails using a single check box at registration; the admin globally configures all other options.

Thanks again!

I first had trouble understand what really is requested here. The links that Notify create and include are to your own site's content, so they should help you get traffic, not lose it.

If I understand correctly, you're afraid that having links in the site to off-site content embedded in the teaser content will make you lose traffic, and want Notify to redact the content of the teaser before sending out the email? If so, that's not something that Notify should do. It is a notification module, not a censor. You're the editor of your site, you're responsible for its content, including links.
