In the features of NodeTable include : Supports a default sort column with asc / desc option .
But i haven't seen any option that does that. I can only sort manual.

the sort options are only available in the 'header'. you need to choose a row to be the header via the checkbox when you edit an individual row. any row can be set to be the header. normally, of course, this is meant to be a row with heading titles in it. if you don't have one of those, then you will need to add it, please.

picture shows the sort options that you should see.

For some reason I do not see any sort options when I edit the header row. Possibly the sidebar is blocking it but I can't even get it to use the administrative theme (which I use for editing.)
Am I missing something?

Looking at the code in the module I see a comment that the column sorting has been temporarily disabled. I guess I'll have to wait. I really like this module so I'll be patient.

It turns out that the problem was that the right sidebar was obscuring the sort options. I did get the sort to work but I think that the module should have used the administration theme when was editing the table.
