I'm looking to create 50+ sites off of a main site, all within Drupal. Each of the additional sites needs to have the ability to add photos, files etc and search the specific site. Is that something that Multisite manager can do, or is the intent for use of the module different? I work at a College and each office and department maintains their own site. However, they are not allowed to make their own site. We set it up for them, and they populate it with content.

This module would make it possible for YOU to create a new site through a Drupal interface. If you did it that way, you would need to create one or more Drupal 'profiles' which would set the site up to its initial form (content types, modules installed, etc.).

But it sounds like it would be unnecessary and merely add convenience for you or your staff.

Would you recommend this module for College or Universities to maintain 50+ department and office sites knowing users need to upload and control their own content?
