Hello Eugen,

I love your module. For a smaller project I thinking about to use Drupal 7 will would also use wysiwyg api and (if possible) wysiwyg_imageupload. Will you port your imageupload module to Drupal 7?

Hi,

thanks! Yes a port to Drupal7 is defenetly planed. But if you scope is <2 months i guess you have to help out here, i will not do this until D7 becomes stable + X.

If I can help, OK :)
But I'm a beginner with javascript and I don't know how to convert a module...

I will release my site after D76 becomes stable, too. But I would check if the needed modules will ported to D7 ;)

Subscription wont help the process, to be honest :)

Until people dont start to chip in or do actual work, this port "might" rawly happen in a year, as iam sticking to drupal quite for while.

I'd be happy to chip in and/or do some work. Would you be able to give us an idea of time/cost for getting this module ported to Drupal 7?

Have you moved to use Drupal Git now?
Or are this project still only supported on GitHub?

EugenMayer’s picture

Version: 6.x-2.2 » 6.x-2.9

still github yet, but it will move on d.o

Ivaseg’s picture

Can you say us when we can see port of this module to Drupal 7? Thanks.

Not just subscribing....

From a quick look, I can see that there appears to be no activity started yet.

1) Are you planning drastic refactoring of the module for D7 or just a pure D6 port to D7?

2) If a straight D6 to D7, which branch are you planning to branch from; 2.x or 3.x?

3) Has there been any offline work started yet or should potential porters start from the corresponding developmental branch?

Keeping the community informed may result in getting more man-power to help out.

Tracking this, Wysiwyg ImageField and Wysiwyg Fields for the best solution for D7.

EugenMayer’s picture

1) yes (media as backend, WUI becomes more a simple, user friendly frontend with a meta-data extension API)
2) 3.x
3) nope, yet there is nothing started

At the moment I use:
wysiwyg/ ckeditor with insert and image_resize_filter.

It fits my needs and works fine for me.

This is an excellent module, and one of the simplest ways for an end-user to add images in an elegant way. Wishing I had enough knowledge to help port it to D7.

so no 7? or was this module taken off of drupal and moved?

My site relies on this mod heavily and I can't find where it was moved (I think).

Looking to port my site over to 7, but if this mod isn't available, obviously won't be able to.

Great module. Sad to see the problems that have led to the apparent stagnation of this tool. IMHO this tool is precisely the type of module, which focusses on delivering a great user experience, that Drupal badly needs. Wordpress handles this stuff really very well out of the box, which I think is key reason why WP is so popular in comparison to Drupal. I'd just like to add my voice to those interested in seeing this module ported to D7 and beyond. It would be a great shame to lose it.
