Hyperlink to create a new node with a taxonomy item selected?

This is a long shot, but I thought I'd try asking.

I often create URLs on which users can click to create a new node limited to a specific group (by adding gids[]=290 at the end of the URL). That way users don't forget to set the group it applies to.

I was wondering if there is a way to create a URL where one of the taxonomy term would be automatically selected in the create node page.

Anyone have an idea how I could do that?
