Hi, there,
With as many hosting forum posts as there are about complaints about Drupal on shared, and then replies recommending VPS, I can't help wondering if Drupal is working for anyone at all on a shared platform?
If I have a small Drupal site, that doesn't have any login (user) capability, can shared hosting actually handle it?
Thanks a bunch,
- Paul

I run multiple sites on shared hosting that are truly small. small in users, small in amount of modules being used, small in content.
Find a host that easily allows for you to move to better hardware as any site grows.
Sure
Yep. I've used ANhosting just fine, or a small cloud server.

Hi Paul,
I second VM's opinion.
Good Luck.

I'm running a Drupal site seeing a moderately high amount of traffic and occasional user login activity on a shared host, and it's been working and performing just fine. I think it largely depends on the hosting service you're using.

Yes, obviously. Actually, a lot of small and new site are hosted in a shared hosting. They are upgraded to VPS until they have made enough traffic.

Yeah, to be honest very few PHP shared hosting are tuned to run Drupal properly. We ourselves are running one server on PHP FCGI + Nginx + APC with MySQL tuning for our shared hosting offering. Its been pretty quiet till now, so i guess the setup is okay.
Getting a VPS is a pain though, its economical but in the longer run if you get decent traffic you will need to tune your setup.
Drupal works in shared hosting
Unless you have video, image gallery & lot of users interacting with social media shared hosting is good to host drupal. Basically it depends on your requirements.
