Merge iPaper D7 port with ScribdField?

Yes.... This would be a top notch feature in the new Drupal 7 CMS. For some unnecessary but wayyyy cool. ;D

Making 6.x-1.x compatible with D7 would not be so difficult
At some point there was also talk #319069: Adding this to CCK about rewriting this for CCK; that has to written first, and then ported.

I might have time to move 6.x-1.x to 7 some time in December, but if someone wants to write code for that before then, please do.

I'd like to add my support for this to be ported - there really isn't anything I can find that comes close to replicating this module's functionality...

This would be a great addition to drupal 7 .. please consider porting it

Instead of porting this module as-is, I'd suggest a merger with ScribdField instead.

ScribdField is already a CCK field, so it should be a lot easier to adapt to the new Fields/Entity paradigm in Drupal 7.

(and for full disclosure's sake, I'd like to say that I am one of the maintainers of ScribdField and is working on a Drupal 7 version, so this is a somewhat self-serving suggestion, but I think my points are valid. Caveat lector.)

Scribd field / iPaper is a very highly anticipated module for me i.e. to say that I am waiting for it and few other modules to be ported to D7 so that I can get a site built for the radiation oncology community (we need to upload PDFs and display them using ipaper without needing extra code. If ipaper merges with it all the better.

I would love to be able to have PDFs opened directly in my site via iPaper. Drupal 7 port is a must! Unfortunately, I'm not even a fairly decent script kiddie, so I can't help with the port. :(
