It's pretty hard work to figure out where the display id is (see the amount of paragraphs devoted to that in the README.txt). So why not support display name?
Here a patch that does that. By default it uses display id, if display id doesn't exist, it looks up the display title.

after applying by hand it give a warning on this line
if (! array_key_exists ($view->display, $display_id)) {about second argument not being an object or array !!

pasquallethe display id can be changed in views 3, so you should learn it, how to find it and use it correctly.
the display title can be easily changed or translated, which will break your insert_view filter.
The view title and display title is used for page output (rendering), it is wrong to use it for anything else..
