However, I adjust my encoding settings so that the mp4 and ogg files are roughly of the same quality.
The original developer of video for everybody uses more accurate labels:
Closed format MP4 vs Open Format Ogg.
I think these are preferable both because they do not make assumptions about how you are encoding and because they remind users that MP4 formats are proprietary.
I've attached a patch the uses these labels instead.

That's a fair point, the labels were simply carried over from the base v4e implementation, I think this is something that will work better as editable labels, so these can be changed to whatever the developer likes, I'll aim to get this into the next release of code.
