count view when "original article" clicked

the agg2 module is working really well for me these days at http://mostlywater.org

the one problem i have is that i would like to be able to have the number of views increase for a node when the "original article" link is clicked and have the ability to remove the "more" link from the teaser. i find that there is almost never "more" article than what appears in the teaser so it is a redundant click. i would rather just send them directly to the original site but i want to know that they have clicked on the story so i can get a sense of what people are reading.

i can get rid of the more link in the theming but i think it might be handy for others to have this feature and i don't want to do it if it means loosing the click counts.
