Is it possible to assign the default language to aliases of a domain? A client wants to have subdomains representing both english and french versions of each subdomian

e.g
site1-en.domain.com
site1-fr.domain.com

site2-en.domain.com
site2-fr.domain.com

So my thought is if it's possible to have site1-en be the subdomain set to english and site1-fr be an alias to site1-en it could be set to french? Is this even possible? Any recommendations on a better solution?

I have not looked into this issue. Domain Locale was built to use path prefixes not language specific domains. Also I think the bigger problem here is for DA to recognize both domains as one.
