Important changes!

This release comes with draggableviews 2, which doesn't have an upgrade path for draggableviews 1. This will be resolved for you automaticly if you are using the newspaper or the RSS product, they have an update hook that makes the upgrade for you, but you will have to take manual steps if you are using draggableviews in a custom project.

You will have to:

Uninstall draggableviews completely
Install draggableviews again
Upgrade any views that you have configured to use draggableviews 1.

We strongly recommend you take the time to do this, since development of the 1.x branch is dead, and will not be maintained any more, but we also realize that this might be hard for you to fit in into your schedule so we also provide a patch so that you can keep on use the latest release of NodeStream and NS Core without upgrading and still get the security upgrades. Check out #1738320: Provide patch to downgrade to draggableviews 1 for the patch, and file an issue if you need help with this.

The irritiating and non-functioning "No translation exists for this content" pane is removed.

Release notes

Important

This release changes the folder structure of NodeStream, so that modules and themes now resides in modules/contrib and themes/contrib. This is done in order to make it easier to work with the project structure, but it also means that you have to be extra careful when you upgrade. Since the drupal class registry is pretty fragile you will probably have to use Registry rebuild to get your site up and running. Here are a few recommended tips when upgrading:

Backup EVERYTHING (Files and database)
Move the contents out of your sites directory outside of your drupal root
Download the latest version of NodeStream
Move the contents of the sites directory back again.
Download Registry rebuild and run it (drush is recommended).
Run update.php or drush updatedb (again, drush is recommended)

If you do the things above, you should be good to go. Feel free to file issues if something goes wrong, but remember to follow all the steps!

This release brings features for better support for localization and translation of content. We added support for entity translation across all our entities (files, all our content types and terms), and we also made sure it all works in the blog and the newspaper product.

This release fixes the fact that we were using a release of ns_prod_rss that cauesed conflicts with ns_prod_news. Disregard alpha9!

This release separates the News product and the RSS products from NS Core. An upgrade path is provided, just remember to run update.php or drush updatedb before anything else!

Release notes

We added the apps module in this release, and we also separated the blog product from NS Core. The blog product can now has it's own project page. The blog feature has changed name, so you will have to enable it again, but everything should work as usual after that.

This release include Entity Reference 1.0-alpha5, which means You have to update your features in order for things to function properly!. We also focused on getting tests for a lot of functionality, which is an ongoing process.
