When points are awared on the site the default setting is to moderate, however certain points issued by rules should be automatically approved. I couldn't find any settings for this so I have added it to my version - though I'd share.
On the rules config page when managing "award points to user" you can now set whether to moderate the points and also announce to the user they have been awarded points.
Hope it is useful to someone.

berdirI think something with the patch file is weird :) It says that a whole bunch of code is added, but that already exists in my version of userpoints_rules.rules.inc. Also, the file seems to re-start in the middle (<?php tag).
Any chance you can try to make a new patch?
Note that you should name your patch file .patch, that makes it possible to review it with http://drupal.org/project/dreditor.
