Description

Hi,

Context: Installed Image yesterday...everything worked fine. Default galleries directory 'images'.

Problem: Today, warning messages (see below), appear at top of pages for anything that has anything to do with image or image galleries.

Weird Things Are: Image and Image Galleries still work fine.

Desired Solution: Removal of 'pseudo' Warning Messages at top of pages.

Administer>settings>image:

* warning: mkdir() [function.mkdir]: No such file or directory in /home/sgprojx/public_html/includes/file.inc on line 91.
* The directory does not exist.

Please Note: The directory '.../files/images/' does exist. In the config. dialogue, the default file path is 'images'. When I first got the above message, I tried to insert an absolute file path...I have not been able to get anything accepted since...not even via the 'Reset Default'.

Administer> image galleries:

* warning: mkdir() [function.mkdir]: No such file or directory in /home/sgprojx/public_html/includes/file.inc on line 91.
* The directory does not exist.

Normal User Menu (Navigation)>create content>image:

* warning: mkdir() [function.mkdir]: No such file or directory in /home/sgprojx/public_html/includes/file.inc on line 91.
* The directory does not exist.

Please Note: I stress again...everything seems to work, I just keep getting the message at the top of any page that has anything to do with Image!

What have I done so far to try and fix this? :

I have ensured that all chmod/permissions settings for the directories are set to 777..have also tried 775.

I have deselected/deactivated Video Image and all Image modules from Administrator>modules. Overwritten the image.module by re-expanding the .tgz file. And then reselected/reactivated the modules in Administrator>modules. All to no avail.

Yeah, I really need help. I'm pretty much clueless about what to do when it comes to this sort of stuff. I'm a noob btw...

The 4.7 download of image isn't listed on the project page so I don't think it's officially supported anymore.

But ... do you have a files directory under your Drupal install? You don't want to chmod every directory in Drupal to 777, just the files directory. You should also be able to control error output to the screen on the Administer >> Settings screen under the Error handling section.

drupal 6.2-
error - The directory does not exist.

i have created a images folder in the files directory, it will not accept any path here though (also cannot restore defaut)-

Default image path:

Subdirectory in the directory "files" where pictures will be stored. Do not include trailing slash.

All my problems with this Module were solved creating these folders by myself. I also gave "..\default\files" and all it's subfolders and files a 777 permissions:

\default\files\tmp
\default\files\images
\default\files\images\temp

There are numerous threads on this issue throughout the site. It's really too bad that someone doesn't corral all the messages and offer up some guidance to everyone, including myself, who've wasted a lot of time with this.

xorissao's solution works. sort of.

I had tried that, but had no luck.

I then uninstalled the image.module, deleted the folders "default>>files>>tmp" and "default>>files>>images" and "default>>files>>images>>temp", then recreated them, gave them the proper permissions and then reinstalled the image module.

victory

not sure why this occurs NOR am I sure why this fixes the problem. But it did for me and I'm happy.

But there is something about this that seems to plague a lot of Drupal users who are spending an inordinate amount of time trying to fix the issue. God bless them.

cheers

ggevalt: you've just volunteered to corral all messages related to this issue, mark the lot as duplicates of this one, and suggest your solution in #7 ... congrats!
