I am experiencing the exact problem described in this post which looks like it should have been resolved in rc6, http://drupal.org/node/682948.

Anyone else experiencing this? If a user edits a book page and then save they lose the edit button. It is not just for them but for the whole group they are in. Rebuilding the permissions fixes it every time and gives them the edit button back until they make another change to a page.
