I like the option to view the last posts and threads as a block on my drupal homepage, except that threads from private forums also show up. I have a vBulletin forum for staff only. If non-staff click the link, vBulletin will not let them view the thread, but I would still like those threads from private forums to not be visible in the block. Sometimes the title includes private information, so, for now, I can not make that block viewable to non-staff members.

Can we get an option to exclude specific forums (maybe by forum number) from the block?

Thread titles from a private forum do not show up in latest thread block on my site. I assume this is because I have the forum restricted to a certain usergroup in VB as you would normally do. If you have done this and they still show up then maybe it is because I also have the private forum password protected via VB admin.

My private forums are just visible in vB to certain usergroups, and not passworded. I don't know if that makes a difference, but any role that sees the block on my site, can see the title of every thread, even those in private forums.

I will password one of my private forums and test that out.

However, I would still like a feature to be able to not include specific forums in the block.

EDIT:

I tested this. I found that if I select RECENT THREADS then the private forum threads do not show up. If I select RECENT POSTS then all recent posts are listed, even the ones in private forums. The results are the same with or without a password in the private forum and regardless of Drupal roles given visibility for the block.

SIDE NOTE/REQUEST: I know this could be a pain, but RECENT THREADS are displayed by the date of the original post, and I would like them displayed by the most recent post within the thread. This is just my preference. Fixing the Recent Posts and adding that option for the listing of the Recent Threads would be awesome.
