Just so it is clear, I am not offering a paying job/gig. I am looking for someone to be a partner with me in creating/launching a new site. I know that this type of speculative work isn't for all freelancers out there but I've seen that there are least some people that are willing to entertain this type of idea: (i.e. http://binaryredneck.net/node/167).
So, I have a rough plan for a new online tutoring site that I believe could compete well in the marketplace. I started trying to create it all by myself using Drupal, but I am afraid that my skills are not up to the task.
Thus, I am now looking for a Drupal expert that might be interested in partnering with me to create the site. I will not ask the partner for any money, however I cannot offer them any money either. I am not looking to hire someone, I am looking for a business partner. Possibly someone that might be looking for a side project that they can put some sweat equity into, that hopefully will produce some nice returns in the future. I know that a lot most web businesses fail, so I'm not going to guarantee anything, but there is definitely a large existing market for online tutoring, and I believe my plan has the potential to grow rapidly, gain market share, and produce a lot of continual income.
The site will be fairly complex and will need to have many social networking features from LinkedIn and from Facebook. A short list of some features would include:
-multiple user types and profiles
-ability to see when others are online/available/busy
-ability to connect users and allow them to chat
-time tracking system for tutor sessions
-billing and payment system between users
-and much more
I have a rough plan, a domain, a basic hosting account to get started with, and a partially built site (that may need to just be scrapped and start over). I just need some more Drupal expertise.
I envision that I would work together with the new partner on the development, and then I would also handle most of the initial marketing and administration. If the project gets off the ground and profitable, we could then look into selling the site or hiring other employees or any number of options.
I am willing to do a full 50/50 partnership for someone willing to take the risk and put the initial sweat equity with me into the project.
You can contact me through my profile if you have some interest. I can then give you a more detailed explanation of what I have in mind for the site, and we can explore the option of partnering together.

I sent you an email through your profile
I think that in this category of the forum, we're supposed to communicate through email, not through the comments. I've gotten several emails already from people interested in partnering and I'm going through the process of talking to each of them. If anyone else would like to look into it, please go to my profile and send me an email. Please do not leave a comment. I will try to remember to post just one more comment to close the thread when I have decided which individual(s) to work with.
Thanks.
