Hi,
I have been trying this module, but with no success.
I am using :
- Lightbox (2010 Jul 11)
- JQuery Update (2010 Jul 11)
- JQuery UI Dialog (2010 Jul 10)
- Wysiwyg Image Upload (6.x-2.2)
- JQuery UI (2010 Jul 11, with JQuery UI 1.7.3 in the jquery.ui folder)
- Wysiwyg (2010 Apr 08)
- TinyMCE (Around May 2010)
The JQuery UI module folder is as follows :
- The module files
- The jquery.ui folder, with :
→ jquery-1.3.2.js
→ ui folder
→ themes folder
The ui folder has js files, a i18n folder and a minified folder.
The themes folder has a base folder and a smoothness folder.
=========================================
The cache tables have been cleared a few times.
The module worked for a few minutes at the beginning, but the popup dialog had serious CSS issues (unclickable and with no background).
This problem may be related to the use of jQuery UI 1.7.
Then, Wysiwyg Image Upload stopped working :
When I click on the plugin button, a jscript seems to be called, with no effect. Every two or three clicks, there is extra space taken at the bottom of the page.
If I disable all CSS styles on the page, I can see that clicking the button displays an hidden caption "Now loading... Close" that fails silently with no Javascript error at all.
I think I followed the installation instructions properly, however, something is wrong.
Note : The plugin does not work either with Garland.

swirly commentedHi EugenMayer and everyone,
I think I'm very close to getting the wysiwyg image uploader running but somehow it is not appearing when I create content. I'm doing this on a local machine. This my 3rd day using Drupal and I've finished the exercises in Lynn Brightley's Drupal book (ok ok I admit, for dummies!) so I'm very much a newbie. I hope I am commenting in the right place, if not, I'm very sorry but if I did it wrong, pls rebuke gently if at all. :)
Could anyone tell me where I have gone wrong? I have enabled these dependencies
1. jQuery UI: 6.x-1.3
2. jQuery Update: 6.x-2.0-alpha1
3. Wysiwyg: 6.x-2.1
4. JQuery UI Dialog API: 6.x-1.10
5. WYSIWYG Image upload: 6.x-2.2
6. ImageCache: 6.x-2.0-beta10
I reckon that it is all enabled well because in under 'Reports> available updates' it said =>
"WYSIWYG image upload - Inline images for CKeditor, FCKeditor, TinyMCE and others 6.x-2.2. Includes: WYSIWYG Image upload, WYSIWYG Image upload Browser is up to date]" so the modules must have been enabled correctly.
But under "'Reports> status report" the wysiwyg image uploader module does not appear, and I have this message which I am not sure if it is even relevant. => "Upload progress Not enabled. Your server is capable of displaying file upload progress, but does not have the required libraries. It is recommended to install the PECL uploadprogress library (preferred) or to install APC." All the rest 0f the component have green ticks, not red circle crosses at all.
I followed http://drupal.org/node/808626, http://drupal.org/node/809610, http://drupal.org/node/692070 and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LEKpvI1G8qE, very closely. The only step I didn't follow is
1. Cache: Clear your cache once (theme cache) ==> I stopped at "Click the "Clear" button located at "Administer > Site configuration > Performance"" and didn't proceed with empty cache at Devel Block sinceI never install the devel module.
I am quite excited about using this module as I have seen so many people, given the usage statistics, do it successfully! Would anyone know why the WYSIWYG Image upload module didn't work in mine? Only the ckeditor rows shows when I create content.
Is it better if I disable ckeditor and install fckeditor or tiny mce instead (although I know that it is compatible with all editors)? EugenMayer, I've also attached screenshots jquery.ui module folder as you have asked from another poster.
Would really appreciate any help! Thanks very in advance!
Cheers.

eugenmayer commented@swirl: Just to be straight, for a "newcomer" or "dummie" this was most probably the most detailed and helpfull error-report i have ever read. You have read all docs ( and i mean _all_ ) and you even "thought" about this. Thank you for investing your time first, before asking!
Back to your problem:
Well, as i told you before, you seem to have read the docs. I see that you have installed jquery.ui properly and jquery update is also properly installed. You dont have any error messages on the report page - so thats fine. The one with the upload is optional for Drupal and is not related to WUI at all.
Iam using the CKeditor with WUI, so you might get the best restults with it. In addition, i can only advice you to use CKeditor as an editor in general.
But lets get to the most interesting detail "does not show up". We have different ways it "does not show up".
I have created a FAQ page which most probably handles your issue : http://drupal.org/node/898222
Read it and report back here.

swirly commented@ EugenMayer,
Thank you for your reply! I know that sometimes, it seems like a reply to my queries magically appeared, but behind that reply is someone who takes the time and trouble to help me out, so I thank you for that! They did say that Drupal community is wonderful!
My problem corresponds to "The button does not show up in the WYSIWYG(CKeditor) toolbar" as seen in screenshot (only CKeditor comes up, does not look like what is shown in the youtube video). Incompatibilities are probably not an issue because I haven't installed the modules that the wysiwyg image upload module clash with.
BUT! One problem is that because I am new, I may not understand instructions the way I am supposed to. Can I clarify if I did the right thing as per your instructions? They are:
(I). Your instructions from http://drupal.org/node/808626:
3. "Enable image uploading plugin in the WYSIWYG editor:, Go to the Wysiwyg setting, and click the "Edit" link on the required input format. Under "Buttons and plugins", check the new "Image uploading" option. You'll also need to check all the buttons and plugins you want."
==> What I have already done is
(i) Under Home » Administer » User management >> Permissions I have already ticked off for authenticated users are for
(a) wysisyg_imageupload module --> use wysiwyg image upload
(b) image_attach module --> for attach images
(c) image_import module --> for import images
(d) upload module --> uoload files, view uploaded files
(e) image module --> create images, delete own images, edit own images, view original images
(ii) Under Home » Administer » Site configuration >> WYSIWYG Image upload ==> All the presets allowedare ticked
(iii) Under Home » Administer » Site Building >> Modules, I have enabled image-related items such as:
(a) Core module ==> Upload 6.19
(b) Drupal Wiki module ==> WYSIWYG Image upload, WYSIWYG Image upload Browser 6.x-2.2
(c) Image module ==> Image, Image Attach, Image Gallery, Image Import 6.x-1.0-beta6
(d) ImageCache module ==> ImageAPI, ImageAPI GD2 6.x-1.8 and ImageCache 6.x-2.0-beta10
(e) Other module ==> CKEditor 6.x-1.1
(f) User interface module ==> jQuery UI 6.x-1.3, jQuery Update 6.x-2.0-alpha1, Wysiwyg 6.x-2.1
(g) WYSISYG module ==> JQuery UI Dialog API 6.x-1.10
(II) Your instructions from http://drupal.org/node/808626:
4. Input Filters: Activate the input filter "Drupal Wiki inline images" for all input-types you want to use wysiwyg_imageupload in. If you are using 'HTML filter' for your 'Input filter', you probably have to add img as a allowed html tag. Be sure to run the filter very early ( heavy weight ), otherwise other filters can strip out CSS.
==> What I have already done is
(i) Home » Administer » Site configuration » Input formats >> Edit >> Filter, I have selected the Filtered HTML with the allowed tags including <img> that I have allowed for.
(ii) Home » Administer » Site configuration » CKEditor >> security, Drupal Wiki inline-images is ticked.
(III) Your instructions from http://drupal.org/node/898222:
"Do you have installed the "CKeditor module" (not the library itself). Thats the standalone-pluggin for CKeditor when you dont use the WYSIWYG module. Please remove the CKeditor module completely"
Under my Home » Administer » Site configuration >> Wysiwyg, it says "There are no editor libraries installed currently." You wrote "Please remove the CKeditor module completely"
--> am I supposed to disable my CKeditor, or did I understand this wrong? The CKEditor version I am using now is 6.x-1.1.
Sorry it is super super long!! I thought I should be detailed so other newbies can also follow along if they need to.
Cheers.

eugenmayer commentedI + III)
you seem to have completely installed the CKeditor wrong. you installed the CKeditor module, what is wrong. Instead you need the WYSIWYG module + the ckeditor library under sites/all/libraries/ckeditor. Disable and _remove_ the CKeditor module.
Thats exactky what Under my Home » Administer » Site configuration >> Wysiwyg "no libraries installed" indicates.
After you added the library you should be able to chose "CKEDITOR" for a input format under Home » Administer » Site configuration >> Wysiwyg
Please consult the documentation of the WYSIWYG module for further details.
You need then to edit the profile and activate the "image upload" module under buttons

swirly commentedAhh...ok! I'll work on that. Thanks so much!

mattgilbert commentedI ran into a similar problem, with the added space appearing at the bottom of the screen, rather than the popup. But it seemed to fix itself after a while. I emptied the cache on on the server and in the database before installing this module and all it's dependencies, but I suspect that there was a problem with the javascript files cached on the client-side, in my browser. I wasn't using the CKEditor module. (Or the CKEditor itself, for that matter. I was using TinyMCE with the WYSIWYG module.)
Anyway, the problem is solved for me but I thought it might be helpful to mention that it could be the wrong (outdated) javascript files being used that could cause this, and emptying your browser's cache may solve the problem.

eugenmayer commentedThank you for the hint matt, but the old issue is regarded to something else (using the ckeditor module together with WYSIWYg) i mark this one as fixed anyway, as this case is closed (and known)
Comment #11
hermes_costell commentedOld issue... but for those finding this via Google (as I just did) the issue is most likely that you're not working with the right jquery_ui version (1.7.x)
