Hi guys,
As I got a person from Moldova trying to purchase something on my website http://www.m2osw.com he told me that his country was not available.
I looked in the list, I was pretty sure I put all the countries except a few African countries...
Sure enough, Moldova was not anywhere.
A file was proposed on your http://www.ubercart.org website, but I guess it was never reviewed.

Somehow the Bender municipality did not include an abbreviation. The correct abbreviation is BE as per this webpage:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vehicle_registration_plates_of_Moldova
I verified all the abbreviations and they are otherwise correct.
If you think that the names should use the proper characters, I will also change them. At this time, it is all written in ASCII instead of using the ş, ă, ţ, î characters as expected in Moldavian.
Thank you.
Alexis

vv7 commentedBender is the same as Tighina.
back in the time of turkish occupation the town of Tighina got the turkish name Bender.
and it was under the name of Bender for long time since then, including the soviet era.
in the 90s things went back to its historical roots.

tr commentedThere are inconsistencies between the patch in #1 and the list at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ISO_3166-2:MD
I think the names should use the proper characters as per the ISO spec.
Also, ISO name of the country is "Moldova, Republic of"
Have you verified the address format?

AlexisWilke commentedHmmm... Very frankly, it's difficult to find a one way to write the address. They have a lot of websites in Russian which is not my forte and the Romanian ones seem to indicate that the following would be how addresses are generally presented:
!company
!first_name !last_name
!zone_name, !country_name_if
!city, !postal_code
!street1
!street2
See those pages:

I'm also uploading a new version with the city & region names with accents and the country name fixed.
Thank you.

rossmerriam commentedHi,
I upgraded my version of ubercart to 6.x-2.x-dev after reading this thread as my client requires Moldova to be in the country listing, but when I check the site moldova is still not in the country list.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

tr commentedmoldova_498_1.cif is present in 6.x-2.x-dev.

Kirk commentedI needed Moldova for Ubercart 1.x on Drupal 5.x. In case anyone is looking for it, I pack-ported your code. Thanks a lot!
