From the attached picture it appears that there will be a box on clicking the user photo - will it happen globally across the site or just in PM? Unless globally, it will be very odd design-wise.

A demo site for this module is not be available.
What you see in the screenshot is the result of a view - the result of applying the provided extended functionality of the Privatemsg module.
