Spoke to Steven at length tonight about getting this into core. If we're to do this, there needs to be a patch on the issue queue that's been reviewed and RTBC by Monday, when they're planning on rolling a beta.
No chance of it getting in as the default theme (see http://acko.net/blog/a-new-default-theme-for-drupal) but he would be supportive of it getting into core as a secondary, "hackable" theme, which is something that Zen excels at.
Just posting this here so you guys are aware. I'd recommend wrapping up any remaining "major" bugs and throwing it back to the wolves again ASAP, ignoring as many of those "too much space/not enough space" "too big fonts/not big enough fonts" comments as possible.

zirafa commentedThis is OK by me. Having ANY new theme included in core is great news.
The only outstanding critical issue I see with this theme now is cross-browser font compatibility. I think an earlier version of the delicious_zen theme had been tested and worked fairly well across browsers (see browsercam shots from previous thread).
Otherwise I can't think of anything else that would prevent RTBC by monday.

zirafa commentedHere is the latest CVS tarball. Please review!

The only bug left is a minor IE float drop on admin pages. I don't see this as a critical issue, however.
