hi guru's.
i'm building an online retail site requiring secure ecommerce, database product catalog covering up to 1000 items, rss, forums, and as much social networking tie ins as can be created.
i've got to evaluate three different frameworks: the shortlist is joomla, drupal and maybe dotnetnuke.
obviously i'd expect some pro durpal comment here. anyone care to point out the advantages of drupal over the other two, or the modules requiring consideration.
i haven't used either joomla or drupal before, but i've got aspx dot net experience...

if you've got a tight deadline to hit, then go with what you know best. if you're ready for a steep learning curve, then give Drupal a try. Personally, I'd avoid Joomla - see http://drupal.org/node/741366 for some reasons why, particularly the newer comments.
Ubercart is a widely used ecommerce module for Drupal (Drupalcommerce in the future if I'm not mistaken), and the ecommerce module is almost ready for a stable release.
Drupal's built-in forums aren't that good, check out the advanced forums module if you need more.
RSS, not sure whether you want to be able to output rss feeds, which is inbuilt so you won't need any additional module for that (maybe views), or you want to aggregate content from feeds, then have a look at the feeds module.
Social Networking, well, this could mean anything and there are plenty of modules that should provide you with whatever you're looking for, from Voting/Rating to sharing content on Facebook, Twitter & Co...
