Anonymous (not verified) commentedDrupal CRM would be awesome. But I think it should be a stand-alone installation profile, like OpenAtrium and ManagingNews.
Currently I'm working with Sugar CRM, which has everything, ncluding even Gantt Charts for Project Management.
Drupal can do all that too. I'm pretty sure you can copy Sugar CRM as a Drupal profile. I suggest building this on D7 from scratch, since it would be a stand-alone Drupal anyway. You don't need D6 compatibility at this point.

Anonymous (not verified) commentedmorningtime: that seems to be what they're working on over here:
http://groups.drupal.org/node/89779
Also found a list of CRM initiatives here:
http://groups.drupal.org/node/62398
I found a group on Zoho, so added that to the list.
I need to do it on D6 and the closest I've found for my particular needs is using:
...but it's not quite all working together and I'm thinking maybe rolling my own in line with what they're trying to achieve with D7 in order to provide an upgrade path... we'll see...

rlmumfordIs there still alot of interest in this?

allie mickaAt this point, my plans are a little different that actually building a native CRM tool, with more of an interest in developing some known data structures/interfaces for commonly-available data. A lot of my input went into a discussion at Copenhagen that became http://groups.drupal.org/node/89779
I think there's a place for these efforts to move in parallel, and to touch base at DrupalCONs to see if there's an opportunity to sync up. In the meantime, I'd like to put some of my work to code as soon as I can, but without outside support/funding, that's going to follow the backlog of my work on other modules.

rlmumfordI'm gonna be working in community management tools (for churches) in the next few months. I think (especially with entities providing the level of abstraction we've all been waiting for) it makes to try and at least make sure any efforts in this direction are compatible with each other. Maybe work on an kind underlying CRM framework or standard way of doing things and then build our own tools off of that?

bluegeek9 commentedHello,
I want to take over the CRM project. I have code that works with modern drupal on GitHub, and want to move the project to Drupal.org
