hi

is there anyway to provide the user to have a pre-defined sound play to alert them when new message is received?

+1 for this functionality.
Maybe the implementation like done with im could be used here?

For now we could use the patch that is included. You will need to manually add a file called beep.wav in the qtc/js directory.

I applied patch - manually added/replaced strings in *.js, uploaded beep.vaw, cleared cache, but no sound.

it all depends on what. js you edit qtc.js or qtc.min.js respectively, and that should be included in the settings
