Broken search breadcrumbs when used with apachesolr

When I use apachesolr search with page manager enabled and do a search, my breadcrumbs are to Home and then Search, where search shows a path of /search/node/%25menu_tail. You actually don't need a working solr set up to be able to reproduce (you get it with or without working solr), just enabling both modules will do the trick.

The only thing I've been able to do to turn off this behavior is the quick fix attached.
