In my previous install of 473 I had a files/ images folder. When I updated to 474, the files folder was gone. The update instructions said to delete all the old files but didn't say anything about not deleting certain folders.

No problem because I replaced the files/images folder but did I do something wrong?

in the future do not remove your files folder. This folder and anything in it is not a core folder.

The update.txt could be a little more clear with this. I agree. The text takes for granted, that when told, delete all drupal files and folders, that users will know which folders that entails.

in this case, the files folder isnt actually considered a drupal folder.

OK, got it. Yes that statement to delete all the old folders and files is dangerous..LOL
It's a good thing I made a whole Drupal copy on my local computer.
