I have never used this module because it was only 5.x.
Recently, I created a module I called 'Admin Menu Hider' that did pretty much the same thing as this. I was looking around to see if it would be a duplicate in the code repository, and found this.
I attached my module, which does the same thing, as far as I can tell. (The only problem is a slight jerkiness in the animation.)

Josh The Geek commentedI would like to take over this module. It says 'Seeking new maintainer', and I had coded a Drupal 6 version without knowing of this module's existence. I do not have CVS access yet, but I have applied at #929662: Josh The Geek [joshthegeek]. I have not personally used this module, because I only have my personal site (D6) and one D6 test site. Attached is my latest version of Admin Menu Hide (as I called it).
