I logged into Site5 forums today and was surprised to see I couldn't post. I then noticed a PM waiting for me and it had this to say:
Dear ramdak5000,
You have received an infraction at Site5 Web Hosting Forums.
http://forums.site5.com/showthread.php?p=80981
Reason: Starting thread that tried to turn in to bash thread
-------
Hello, as I stated you would be responsible for any content in that thread so I am revoking your posting permissions under the guidelines for repeating disregarding them. The reason we close and/or do not allow such threads is because people go "off cocked" and take an issue and spin it completely out of control. If you wish to have this lifted, please PM me.
-------This infraction is worth 20 point(s) and may result in restricted access until it expires. Serious infractions will never expire.
All the best,
Site5 Web Hosting Forums
Now, if you go to the 6th post in that thread you will notice a warning from the moderator that I would be held responsible for further content on the thread. I read this, posted one more clarification and then never visited the thread again.
Apparently, the thread turned into a bash thread by the definition of Site5 and as a result, my posting privileges were withheld. Now, consider the absurdity in all this:
1.) My original post was a fair one, aimed purely at finding out if other resellers were affected and if so, what could be done to resolve the issue. I stated this explicitly as on previous occasions, similar posts had been deleted straightaway by the forum moderator.
2.) Site 5 did not give me moderator privileges on the forum to help me to 'keep the thread straight'
In effect, my posting privileges have been disabled for making a genuine attempt to understand a serious issue for which I am answerable to my clients and when I did not have the permissions to moderate posts critical of Site5.
The stupid thing in all this is that only a few days ago, I renewed my reseller plan for 6 months. I may not be able to do this immediately, but I am now looking for another host who don't see their customers as their enemies. Frankly, I don't think Site5 deserves my business when they have such draconian policies to muzzle customer feedback.

Hmm...
Apparently, this is the post that touched a raw nerve and led to the thread being closed and my posting privileges withheld.
Site5 support abysmal
Don't worry about their forums...they are bound to be biased. The real cause for concern is the lack of real support.
I could not recommend Site5 as their support is abysmal with critical delays causing a 20 hour period of downtime recently. Even the initial responce to my support request took 9 hours for someone to reply.
