Or set the default language, so that I can click on (in my case german) the germany flag and the translation resets.

And on specific pages the translation is unnecessary because if you go to block configurations and set the paths where the block should apperar, gtranslate translates them :-/

you can disable gtranslate on some pages by disabling the blocks on those pages.

The question was not "how to disable it?". The question was "How can I reset the language?".

I am closing this issue, since Drupal 6 isn't supported anymore.
