I have uploaded a default image for each of the link image fields, but on the create content page, I still have to upload the image again. I am building a site for a conference and each of the presenters will have a bio page with social contact links. I was hoping I could upload a default image for each of these links, then just ad the individual links as I create their node.

If the module doesn't really provide a default image, then perhaps it shouldn't be an option when configuring the field.

This problem also exists in the 7.x-dev version. I, too, would like to be able to use a default image but change the link for each node.

Development or support is not planned for D6. All D6-related issues are marked as outdated in a bunch.

If the issue remains relevant for D10+ versions, merge requests with proposed solutions for a new module version (D10+) are welcome in a new follow-up issue.
