awesome module thank you for contributing. after using it i noticed the lack of the First Name / Last Name on checkout and then I found this issue on the Location queue where the maintainer of this module actually contributes a module to provide this functionality: http://drupal.org/node/599252

i was just going to suggest perhaps that this functionality become part of uc_location itself? i honestly agree and disagree with the decision made on that issue as implementing content_profile just for first name / last name is a bit of overkill, but i can see how (especially with Location Add Another aka multiple locations even for users) that conceptually having a First name / Last name / organization per user location (and node location?) is a lil confusing.

Afterthought / what I tried before finding the add on module, what if uc_location had an option to specify a profile field to map these fields to? or what if uc_location programmatically provided the profile fields it needed

Yes, maybe adding support for first, last and organization location fields should be part of uc_location. Extending this to support profile fields would also be a good idea for a future release.
