The recommended template in the Theme:information section for certain (not sure, if all) summary views is listed as views-view-unformatted.tpl.php.

However, it should be views-view-summary-unformatted.tpl.php

Attached is a view which creates A to Z links. 'A' links to stories starting with A,...etc. If you check the Views UI, you'll see the suggested template doesn't match the one which made the output. Hence copying that template to your theme directory and changing it will also have no effect.

So this seems like a wee bug.

I don't think the theme: information actually addresses the summary views at all.
