hello,
as I am using wordpress I like the upgrade feature. every time a new release of wordpress is there it apears a message in the dashboard and a upgrade button, which leads to the automated upgrade - no download, extract, upload of files required.

I would like to have the same for drupal. now the user must downlaod the files form drupal.org, extracts them, uploads them and starts update process.

i think that can be done automatically.

This is done for modules and themes in Drupal 7, but support for core upgrades unfortunately didn't make it in time for feature freeze.
