I set a view of node with an embedded video field.

in the view the embedded video thumbnail image links to the full node, where the video is displayed in full view and with autoplay. the thumbnail is external, from vimeo.

now, i'd like to have emfield display the play button on the thumbnail. apparently the play button is displayed only if i set the "Thumbnail -> Full size video inline replacement" or "Thumbnail -> Preview size video inline replacement", but if i do so then clicking on the thumbnails doesn't open the node page but simply replaces the thumbnail with the video itself, that is *within* the view.

is there any way to use provider's thumbnails with emfield's play button to open the node page? that is without replacing the thumbnail with the video?
