I've had a problem when moving sites between dev and production servers - links saved with full path (even if they are on the same site) were saved like external links and moved to another domain, links were not correct.

I've added new option relative_url, that will strip domain and make internal link if entered external link is on the same domain.

It's been four years since this bug, and no one's touched it. If you need to you can re-open this ticket, but I suspect you don't need this fixed anymore.
